Everything Reminds Me of You

Tessanne Chin wasn’t my pick to win The Voice last season but her performance of this new song, presumably titled Everything Reminds Me of You, was my favorite performance from the show tonight. I think she may have a hit on her hands.

Lyrics:

Every little thing
Every little thing
Every little thing,
Every little thing
Every little thing
Every little thing
Everything reminds me of you

I hate coming home because I know your not upstairs, in our bed
Yeah,
And breakfast in the morning makes me think of when I used to make you eggs
Oh no,
I can’t watch TV on Sunday nights especially not HBO
Yeah,
Cause I don’t wanna make the dumb mistake by turning to what used to be our show
Oh, oh, ohh

Everything reminds me of you
Everything reminds me of you
Every picture, every place,
Every moment, every face
Everything reminds me of you
My eyes keep burning everyday cause I don’t ever seem to get no sleep
To be honest at night I’m afraid, that I’ll see you in my dreams
I don’t talk to your mother, your father, your sister
Your brother, ’cause every last one of you look the same to me
And you need to know it’s all your fault
So don’t you ever try blaming it on me, blaming it on me

Hey,
Everything reminds me of you
Everything reminds me of you
Every picture, every place
Every moment, every face
Everything reminds me of you

Don’t even like when the stars are shining
‘Cause it reminds me of the both of us
And all the dreams that we left behind
I watch them turn to dust
Watch them fade away

Oh, Everything reminds me of you
Oh, Trying hard and I can’t escape you

Everything reminds me of you
Everything reminds me of you
Everything reminds me of you
Oh no,
Every move, that I see
Every song, that I sing
Everything reminds me of you
Oh baby
Everything reminds me of you
I can’t sleep at night
Everything reminds me of you
Every picture, every place
Every moment, every face
Baby everything reminds me of you

Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World: “Say Something”

I think this is a beautiful piece of music.  I really appreciated the restraint that Christina showed in the song; her willingness to hold back for the sake of beauty, harmony, emotional pitch.

Lyrics:

“Say Something”

Say something, I’m giving up on you.
I’ll be the one, if you want me to.
Anywhere, I would’ve followed you.
Say something, I’m giving up on you.

And I am feeling so small.
It was over my head
I know nothing at all.

And I will stumble and fall.
I’m still learning to love
Just started to crawl.

Say something, I’m giving up on you.
I’m sorry that I couldn’t get to you.
Anywhere, I would’ve followed you.
Say something, I’m giving up on you.

And I will swallow my pride.
You’re the one that I love
And I’m saying goodbye.

Say something, I’m giving up on you.
And I’m sorry that I couldn’t get to you.
And anywhere, I would have followed you.
Oh-oh-oh-oh say something, I’m giving up on you.

Say something, I’m giving up on you.
Say something…

Sail – AWOLNation / Kat Robichaud

I discovered this song watching Kat Robichaud cover it on The Voice. I thought her performance was captivating. I can’t get it out of my head. It is the only song I wanted to go back and watch again and again so I’m sad that Kat was in the bottom three on Tuesday night but I am happy she was saved. I assume her style doesn’t resonate with what would be the majority of typical Voice viewers, but I am grateful she is sharing her talent and hope she gets to remain on the show for a few more weeks.

Here is Kat’s performance from The Voice:
